Component C – Year 11 for Exam

  • For component C in Year 11 students are required to complete an exam. This exam equates to 40% of the total grade. The exam is worth 60 marks and lasts for 2 hours.

Learners will need to be able to:

  • Identify the main sources of finance available to a business and their advantages and disadvantages
  • Understand what is meant by revenue, costs and profit
  • Understand what is meant by cash flow and be able to produce and analyse cash flow statements and cash flow forecasts
  • Understand what is meant by break even and be able to carry out break even analysis
  • Interpret the financial records of a business
  • Understand what is meant by the market research
  • Understand what is meant by the term marketing mix
  • Identify appropriate methods of marketing for a business
